Cohesive Canon Foundation
We encourage players to explore the world of Kahuvaa fully as it is a collaborative world building game in which players are co-creators. Terrains, companion species, familiars, storylines, locations, import species, genetics, abilities, skills, etc. are all welcomed to be explored - nothing is off limits as long as it falls within the canon foundation explained below.
- The world of Kahuvaa is that of tribal and spiritual magic. We are not going to explain this further as we want to leave it open to interpretation for players.
- The focus of the Kahuvaa canon is on ungulate species, mainly emphasizing equine.
- Ungulate is defined as an hoofed mammal. These include both odd-toed ungulates (such as horses, rhinos, tapirs) and even-toed ungulates (such as cattle, deer, sheep, etc). Typically, they are herbivorous but some modern species are omnivorous and some prehistoric species are carnivorous.
- Equine species include those that are winged, finned, gilled, etc. All range in diet depending on their classification on their specific species info sheet.
- The ungulate species follow a certain genetic markup and real world DNA distribution that has been defined in a manner that allows creative freedom when it comes to individual character design. Although the majority of ungulate species are made of typical flesh and bones, there are some species that fall out of line when it comes to the typical definition we have from a human point of perspective for real world animals. It does not matter the species and how they are made, they can be characterized using elements, mythological aspects, objects, minerals, or even things that are not found on Earth such as stars, galaxies, etc.
- Keep in mind that the there is a design foundation laid out for all species to make them distinguishable from one another. Design freedom allowed must fall within the foundations per species.
- All official characters (ungulate species) are identified on KA-Registry as imports. All other species and breeds not made available as imports are tracked by players only, not Kahuvaa.
- No one knows if the world of Kahuvaa exists on Earth or some parallel universe or entirely a new plane. It has been left open to interpretation for the community to discover and develop. Along with that, there is no hard timeline in terms of the current year.
- Fantasy elements, enhanced objects/plants, enhanced animals, abstract phenomena, etc. are all welcomed to be explored as long as the foundation laid out for the Kahuvaa canon is applied.
- We encourage the creation of new locations and terrains for the community to explore.
- Fictional realms are encouraged as long as they are developed with the Kahuvaa community and within the canon. To make realm creation successful the admins must help guide the creation and rules of the realm to make more believable for players and livable for characters.
- Violence exists in Kahuvaa as do crimes as ethics and integrity are practiced along with virtue. Players can/may explore these topics in a manner that does not break the official PG-13 rating that Kahuvaa falls under.
- Humans exist in the world of Kahuvaa as well as other species who walk on two legs and have hands with an opposable thumb. Kemonimimi, anthro, etc. all exist as long as they are not copied from other franchise or brands.
- The use of dogs, cats, and birds in Kahuvaa is merely for companionship for the official characters. Kahuvaa canon provides player-created breeds for each one to allow creative freedom when it comes to designing companions.
- Kahuvaa imports do not have any other forms (humanoid, anthro, etc) - only the feral forms as seen on the official import lines.
- Characters from other franchises, ARPGs, Closed Species, or trademarked characters do not exist in Kahuvaa and are not considered canon.
- Players may draw them and interact with alongside Kahuvaa imports but such interactions are not accepted into any Kahuvaa owned forum, gallery, sharing center, etc to keep the canon pure.
By contributing to the Kahuvaa community you agree to abide by the canon foundations laid out on this page.
