Introduction
Group Rules (Terms of Service)
In order to maintain a safe and drama-free environment, the group must operate on a number of rules that are absolutely necessary for you to read before participating. Please take the time to familiarize yourself with them!
Main Disclaimer
Species that have import lines in Kahuvaa are NOT free to create; you must purchase, win, breed, or be gifted one in-game.
Kahuvaa is a laid-back game and inclusive as possible to keep the community fun. There are ZERO minimum activity rules which means there are no activity checks so you will never be kicked out for being inactive. Members are not required to post everything within the community at all; if they wish they may just develop their character privately and create works of them.
No matter your language, age, or artistic/writing level - Kahuvaa is open to you! In order to get a Kahuvaa or join the game you must have an account open on PaperDemon or DeviantArt for at least one month and have some art or literature uploaded in your gallery. You do not need to own a Kahuvaa import or geno or items to join the community.
What is Kahuvaa?
Kahuvaa is the name of the world this game takes place in. It is its own dimension/universe. There is no real connection between the Earth you know and Kahuvaa. There is no set timeline that connects with the current year you live in - instead it seems the local record keepers tend to track historical events using a season and year system putting us currently in Autumn 143 (October 2020 on Earth).
What is found here?
The Kahuvaa world is full some similar things that you are used to on Earth but there are some unique and new things as well. Flora and fauna not seen on Earth, and some that are already extinct on Earth since thousands of years.
The residents that are "higher up" on the intelligence food chain is made up of multiple species. They are classified as "humanoid" species, they are what we refer to as "riders" in the player's eyes.
The next main category of interesting life forms for players found in Kahuvaa are all ungulate species. Ungulate can be summarized as hooved mammals. Ungulates found in Kahuvaa are unique in the sense that their genetics are all over the place. Some seem just like the ones you're used to seeing on Earth like a standard chestnut quarter horse, while others have some amazing genetics that seem to come from a child's creative imagination.

Cohesive Canon
We encourage players to explore the world of Kahuvaa fully as it is a collaborative world building game in which players are co-creators. Terrains, companion species, familiars, storylines, locations, import species, genetics, abilities, skills, etc. are all welcomed to be explored - nothing is off limits as long as it falls within the canon foundation explained in our cohesive canon agreement.

How to Get Started
What do I need to get started in Kahuvaa?
To start off you must first read and agree to the Terms of Service.
What are "Imports"?
An import is the official reference record of a character design, in other words the master list or registry image. An import that has been uploaded to the KA-Registry admin account is considered as an active (alive) character. Genos, customs, and designs cannot be used in game until they have been approved and uploaded to KA-Registry. Ownership listed on the imports is what is considered to be true, so if ownership has not been updated on an import it is not valid.
How do I get one?
There are many ways to get your own import. In most cases you can get a geno or custom and must proceed to follow the steps required to get an import approved and uploaded.
What is a Genotype?
Genotypes are DNA strings that determine what your Kahuvaa looks like physically. Think of genotypes as cooking recipes, all the little codes (letters) are the ingredients that when combined together create the perfect Kahuvaa cake!
For understanding how to turn a genotype into an official import check out the following resources:

Things to do in Kahuvaa
Although there are a lot of aspects to Kahuvaa beyond just owning one (or more), you are not bound to them. All of these aspects have been created for the mere pleasure of members to enjoy - they are all optional.
Creative World Building
The goal of collaborative world building is creating a rich, expansive world that is familiar to the world builders thus creating a more immersive and engaging game which is brimming with adventure possibilities. As CWBGs are a form of roleplay games that focus on crowdsourcing content and story lines, players are treated as co-creators of the ideas and the content to be explored.
Lore Quests
The purpose of these mini-events is to get the whole Kahuvaa community to think about specific mechanics or functions of the canon world and characters. These are very broad as they change the topic they focus on but players can contribute anything that is canon to the world from non-playable characters, locations, activities, genetics, species, to magical content.
Create a Satchel
Kahuvaa has an in-game currency called Wampums or 山. These can be redeemed for many interesting and useful items found in our in-game store called the Bazaar. Wampums can be earned from redeeming items and resources gained via activities, through events, and as rewards for completing group created quests.
No-deadline art/literature activities
We have some on-going activities available for players such as hunting and discovery. These do not have deadlines but are limited to how many entries you can submit per activity per day to keep the queue clean. These activities can earn you Wampums (our in-game currency) as well as crafting ingredients, items, companions, and much more!
Ranking System
Every time you or someone else draws or writes about your Kahuvaa, your Kahuvaa is earning experience points called "Honor Points" - HP. Your Kahuvaa advances in ranks as they keep earning HP which unlocks breeding slots, companion slots, activity execution accuracy, backgrounds, and much more!
Crafting
A skilled activity that allows the player to create new items using ingredients found in on-going activities. This mechanics is currently closed for development.
Continuous Events
Kahuvaa continues to offer events for the community to participate in get their CWBG hats on for some collaborative creativity and development. Remember to check the homepage, announcements posted on PD, and the Discord server for new events!
Who can I talk to if I'm having problems with someone/something?
The Kahuvaa admins/staff are here to make sure you are satisfied with the group's atmosphere and have an approachable place to go to if problems arise. Please send a message to KA-Registry and we will respond as soon as possible! If you are having a problem with an admin, please free to send a message directly to PaintSet and/or ParadoxSketchbook.
